On the shelves

Wellness & Self-Care

The part of the evening you look forward to. Candles, bath and body, essential oils, and a tea bar of loose leaf you can smell before you buy.

What’s on the shelves

Candles and home fragrance, bath and body, essential oils, and a tea bar of loose leaf you can smell before you buy. The part of the shop people linger in longest.

The tea bar

Loose leaf, sold by the ounce, in jars you can open. Tea is one of the few things left that you genuinely cannot buy properly online — you can read a description of a lapsang or a chamomile blend, but you can’t smell it, and smelling it is the entire decision. That’s why the jars are open and why there’s somewhere to stand while you work through them.

Candles and home fragrance

Scent is the other half of the same argument. What a candle smells like cold, in a shop, is a better guide than any photograph of a lit one. Take the lid off. Nobody will hurry you.

Sleep and relaxation

This shelf and the sleep rail in loungewear are two ends of the same shelf, really. Essential oils, sleep and relaxation pieces, and the soft things you change into — bought together more often than not.

Made-up gift boxes

Self-care gift boxes are assembled in the shop from what’s on these shelves. If you want one built around something specific, ask — that’s easier to do in person than through a form. (563) 341-7131.

Kitsch is on the shelves here, alongside the loose leaf by the ounce. The mix changes through the season.
